Cloggy was THE cliff and for years I never missed one if not several visits.

Completely agree - the first time I went to look at it, I was 16, it had been raining, I was alone, the cliff was deserted (apart from the ravens) and I was completely in awe, just wandering along the base scoping out the mythical lines.

True - the scene of many of my best climbs and happiest memories in the early sixties. The last time I was there was when I took a side trip from a descent off Snowdon to take a nostalgic look. I was even nervous on the path below the East Buttress !

Mon amour indeed, tho' you clearly got there ahead of me with Piggott's and Longland's on consecutive days in May 1972. Thirty odd routes (and years) later the love affair persists!
