Taken on the Belvedere above Little Chamonix. One of 12 photos taken over the last year to illustrate an extreme cricket fund raising calendar for Threlkeld Cricket Club whose pitch was damaged by flooding last year. Go to rainstoppedplay.org to see more photos and order your copy. Thanks

Great shot. You should of had fielders down on the flat plain!

Fielders down below would certainly have made ball retrieval quicker! Even so it was a low scoring game.

Very irresponsible to show them behaving so dangerously - get them some helmets someone! (Nice shot!).

Henry, impressed with your Central Buttress knowledge.

Sheep arranged as slip fielders down on the field would have made it. Anyway, its a 6 from me.

What would the Dry Toolers say????

On Shepherd’s Crag we had a ‘Meet on the Ledge’ in ‘Desperation’ which in reality was a ‘Delight Maker.’ The batsman had a good ‘Grasp’ on the situation on the ‘Conclusion’ of his ‘Parting Shot’ into ‘Thin Air’ with an ‘Exclamation’ that his ‘Chamonix Girdle’ was really the ‘Finale’ straw. In ‘Exasperation’ he had an ‘Inclination’ that ‘Hippos might Fly’ which quite frankly was just not cricket.

I don't fancy fielding at First Slip!!!

We have an eight year old nephew who lives in the south, had never seen the Lakes, is mad on cricket because his older cousin bowls for Middlesex. We took him to Surprise View Borrowdale last March. He was impressed. This shot is very similar to the view from Surprise View, so he will enjoy this shot. Two aspects of his life in one. Plus it shows that Cumbrian cricketers are tougher than Middlesex players, but I won't get away with suggesting that.

That's great. Happy to oblige. All images show off the Lake District including the underwater one (kind of!). rainstoppedplay.org

We will send him the calendar tomorrow if it is in Keswick outlets. The ladies of the family reckon that he should have it ASAP before the cricket season ends and before he forgets Borrowdale.

Available in Friars, Open all Hours, Treeby and Bolton Gallery on Lake Road in Keswick and many other places soon. All the best
