fantastic shot. just an idea but you could crop the bottom of this to crop the nearest ridge our of the shot so you're just left with the main blue-white ridge with the red backgrooud. it would make it even more abstract.

Yes it certainly would work, maybe at the expense of a bit of depth but yes it can work a few ways this one.

Q., why is this photo so powerful and moving, A., not sure but maybe it's the gloomy half light plus the contrasting lines of the ridge and the distant cloud? Anyway I think it's a great shot, have a 5.
