Great stuff Paul - I particularly like the gear. I didn't do much after about 1974 but I can relate to the equipment. Flat cap, perlon ropes, alloy carabiners, simple waist harness, slings around the neck bandolier style and of course E.B's (although I always continued to call them P.A's).
Do you remember what climb you did that day ?

I was on holiday from New Hampshire.. I know I took wee Andy up Little Chamonix ..this was his first climb in Borrowdale as it was mine ropeless in 1953..
