Superbly simple.

I don't understand why this isn't POTW - fantastic

Beautiful! Really artistic. I'm no photographer, but would it have been any better using the rule of thirds, with the climber in the bottom left third? I don't know, and I'm definitely not criticising, only asking the question.

Judging by the way I look like I am about to collapse I think the photographer had more to think about than composing a shot.
The arete was pretty narrow for him too!

Tam, I find the blankness to the left gives an amazing sense of isolation. The knife edge ridge being central creates a sense of seriousness and almost allows you to feel the climbers experience. Beautiful shot.

Fantastic picture. I agree with Fishmate - plus the path/ridge being central leads you into the picture and on into the mist. Deliberate or not I think it is great.

Yup, I understand the shot better now, and you are (obviously) right. That's why I'm no photographer! Cracking photo. Cheers.
