It is good to see a lovely photograph from a different setting;which may entice us to go to that region.
I presume that it was pretty cold for much of the time as that must have been in winter.

Yeah - winter is the climbing season out there. It's not as cold as you might thing - the Cordillera Blanca is a tropical mountain range, climbing the 6000m peaks out there is only about as cold as the 4000m peaks in Europe. I found the other Andean nations, particularly Bolivia and Chilie, to be much colder.
