Lousy picture I know, but I was prompted to send it by the recent article about John. He's got that rather sly, mocking look on his face that he often wore.

I was there at that time too. John did the Brown/Whillans route on the Blatiere, with RBJ and hated every minute of it. I don't think he ever went to the Alps again.

I was thrilled to see this picture from the past. It brings back very good memories. Like my twin brother, I have such good memories of John Syrett.
