Is that water down there? It's hard to tell in b&w.

About 2-3 feet with some nice granite under the water!
This was actually my project but jack was just so eager,
and I knew that it would take a couple of months before I was in the right form to climb it,so rather the first ascent going to some non-local who doesn't know it's a project,I agreed to let him climb it, although it was quite sad for me!

It does look absolutely amazing. Are you still planning on climbing it?

Quality line. If that's the high water amrk below his feet, I would wait for a flood and risk drowning, rather than a shallow water solo.

Yes I will climb it,but the initial motivation to do the first ascent is gone now,so I can therefore wait till I can do it relatively easily.
The water is at its highest now, although it only changes a foot or so .

you could always wack a boulder mat at the bottom.
Im told they make quite good rafts!

This is one of the most stunning lines I've ever seen - the gneiss is so smooth down my the river and the climbing looks very committing and awkward - an amazing first ascent and definitely worthy of the 'E' grade.

and its so greasy and slippy too, we had a look after the rain, and when the river was really quite high, i wouldnt like to commit to the top moves, eek
