The United States Navy DC plane that crashed in the black wasteland of Sólheimasandur during 1973 is a surreal sight. I did some light painting of the undercarriage with a purple filtered torch (a sweet wrapper - none of these fancy gels required) and lit the interior with a second headlight. If you look carefully you can see an eye in the first window...

Great shot. I have seen it shot by 'traditional' landscape photographers before showing it in a wider context but I really like the tighter viewpoint of this.
