Such a great picture that it took me a while to think about what the climbers are actually doing, here. As someone who dreams of the alps, but at present mostly does pitched rock climbing in the UK, this looks completely wild: if that snow breaks and one of the climbers falls, would the other really have time to launch themselves down the other side before the rope comes taut? Are these sort of antics considered 'normal' in alpine climbing?
