great pictiure, worth 5 and a half. We looked at the route in July but were put off by a heavy snowfall. How hard are the rocks at the top?

Thanks. The photo was snatched during a brief break in the clouds - from here on it was pretty much a white-out. The bad weather and icy approach had discouraged all but us and a guided pair so we had the route to ourselves. The top rock section is not difficult, just requiring a bit of patience when you think you should already be at the top. If planning to do the traverse, be careful to not get lost on the way down, as we did - the Marco e Rosa hut is very easy to miss in foggy/snowy weather. We had over a foot of snow during the pm! btw the route's prime objective hazzard is the rude, overpricing hut guardian there - who made us feel so welcome (not!)

For info :- Rob Bratton and his climbing partner Daniel (pictured) passed away after an accident climbing the Mitteliggi Ridge (Eiger) on 26th Sept 2005. They will be missed.

What do unclaimed photos mean? Is it where someone has uploaded a photo, but then their profile has been removed. And do profiles get removed if you don't visit the site for (say) a year?
THis poses a couple of questions:
    1) if this photo is about to be deleted because the poor guy who took it and the guy in it are no longer with us, should an exception not be made... seems a bit rude, ya know?
    2) why would someone pretend to be robert bratton on here a year after his demise?

Stunning picture. A fitting tribute to Rob and Daniel
