Hmmm, is it me or is there something weird about the colours in this one and your Deepest Nevada shot?

The colours look fine to me Fraser. A nicely composed shot too with the beautiful foreground wild flowers.

I actually agree that these have a slightly strange look, but I suspect it's more a contrast issue than colour? More striking in the Nevada one for me. The colours in the desert can be a bit unreal, and you're often faced with huge dynamic range to deal with. (I found this particularly challenging in hueco tanks)
I'm glad you got to see the desert in bloom, it's really lovely like that (and the climbing's not half bad either :) )
