I have a very similar setup. It's a very nice decoration.

yeh it works well. I have a second mount for different hangboard and edges and so quick to swap them.

How is it fixed on the bar?

with long screws going in deep in both directions. the same screws go through the hangboard onto the mounting board and in to the thick wood used to hook over the bar.
