A proper line, no going off route!

Indeed. I remember doing what must have been a relatively early ascent of this. It was raining cats and dogs in the Lakes (nowt changes) and somebody said about this place, Trowborrow, limestone but the rock was so rough that you could climb in the wet. I didn't believe them but (back then) it was absolutely true. As I recall, I did this with just the two biggest hexes we had and thought it was superb quality. Think I'd want a ladder of big stuff nowadays and as for climbing in the wet... Couldn't believe how polished Jean Jeannie (Al Evans' favourite new route) had got when I did it again, about 20 years ago. How things change!
