was the light on just for a short while during the exposure?

No, just a very dim light, a single candle, not the dazzling blaze it appears. I played a headtorch on the bothy facade for some of the exposure.

superb, what exposure time did you use?
Huddy - 30/Mar/06
I was hoping nobody would ask me that! I let the OM2 take care of business, nicking back into the bothy from time to time to breath life into the fire - I would guess between 20 & 30 minutes, though if someone with the appropriate astronomical skills calculated a radically different figure I wouldn't argue.
