Liking the photo Nick! Can't say it looks that comfy tho! One question, what is the thing that looks like a tubular shaped piece of metal, beside the cam??

Cheers. No, not very comfy. His legs were a little dead after. Glad he was belaying! The tube is a padded Sigg bottle holder. Nothing exciting!

This has been on my tick list for years. Apart from the spike what else is their to anchor to at this point?

From the photo, nothing much directly above Don, but just where you can see the sling over his legs, there are placements for cams and nuts. Well protected but awkward stance! That 2nd pitch is awesome!

great pic, especially when taken together with the one from below. how long is the walk-in to the coire in summer conditions, btw? i've only ever done it in winter.
Astral Highway - 21/Jun/06
Thanks AH. If you walk it, expect 3ish hours, to the Hut, and another 30 mins to the crag. Cycling saves about 30mins on the approach, but the descent is MUCH quicker. You can get about 3km from the Hutchy Hut on bikes. Spectacular place to climb.
