I was really interested to see this photo. I climbed Mount Keen that night and was on the summit at midnight. Stars and Northern Lights both visible along with millions of fireworks. I remember seeing a couple of groups on my way down. By the time this photo was taken I was probably asleep in a layby near Dundee. I tried to drive home to Glasgow but I was going to crash without some shut eye! Because I was only on the hill in the dark I have no photos. Perhaps I should have stayed on the hill for another couple of hours. What a beautiful sunrise.

Hey, I remember a car in the Glen Esk carpark which was there when I arrived (10pm, in a tall VW van) and wasn't when I set off at 6am. That would explain it! The Millennial dawn exceeded my expectations, but you would have ended up hypothermic if you'd hung around for 8 perishing hours to catch it.
