Lovely photo, there is also a good one in one of those coffee table books Richard Gilbert et al did, 'Wild Walks' maybe.

Traditionally the near end has been left open (kitchen and a bedroom) with the rest under lock and key, c/o a hotel in Gairloch, but I haven't been there this century and can't be sure of the current situation - I've seen unconfirmed reports that vandalism has provoked complete closure.

It was firmly locked when I was there at the end of May 2007. Nearby, Baosbheinn is such a cracking hill.

It was open on Saturday (right hand end).Heard the same it was closed due to vandalism but the door doesnt have a lock!

Glad to hear that, fmck - leaving part open should be the best insurance against vandalism to the whole.
