Geoff always hated it that I scored from 30yds out to win the Cream Team Special (he was captain) against the Clean Hands Gang (Ken Wilson was Captain) at Stoney Middletons Ground. Actually I think we won 3-0 but it was my goal that clinched it :-)

You are obviously very proud of this goal Al. Jim Curran played with us on the Edale team a couple of times and on one occasion when he wasn't paying much attention the ball skidded off his head into the back of the net. He still talks about 'his goal' to this day.
You two should get together on the Byron to reminisce on these glories of the past - I'm sure that Maradonna would join you if you offered to buy him a pint.
