The rock band is actually Dave Hatchett's band Fortress. Dave is a longtime Tahoe local climber and boarder, who featured in the OG master of stone vids, good friend of Dan-o, the founder of Totally Board snowboard films, and the author of all of the latest the Tahoe Bouldering guidebooks.
