TirolWool Celliant is a unique wool technology: a reflective hybrid insulation that outperforms conventional wool and synthetic alternatives. Efficient, warm, soft and low-bulk, it is created by blending 40% natural TirolWool with 60% Celliant, a polyester fibre with embedded thermo-reactive minerals that reflects and recycles radiant heat back to the body.
Originally used in medicine and science, Celliant increases the thermo-regulating function of TirolWool, improving its warmth-to-weight ratio and making it feel softer and more comfortable to wear. Celliant is permanent as it is blended into a resin and embedded into the core of each fibre. And the sheep? Resident in South Tyrol, these tough dudes live year-round at 2,000m in harsh conditions where normal sheep wouldn't survive.
The Ortles 2 TirolWool Celliant Jacket is a technical outer garment with a bluesign-approved water-resistant nylon double ripstop shell over 100-weight TirolWool Celliant insulation. Cut for mobility, it features high-reach sleeves to ensure no hem lift. There's a zipped chest pocket, two outer and two inner pockets, and an insulated helmet-compatible hood.
