The Bitterblaze gloves from Outdoor Research are the perfect glove for Alpine or Scottish winter use. They offer a huge amount of insulation whilst maintaining dexterity to allow you to keep your hands fully protected at all times.
They use a technology from PrimaLoft called Aerogel on the palm and fingers to stop cold transfer. Alongside this technology the gloves also feature a GORE-TEX insert, a Pittards Oiltac leather palm to maintain grip even in the wet and cold and PrimaLoft Gold insulation on the back of the hand.
PrimaLoft Aerogel is a flexible, lightweight, compression-resistant insulation that doesn't conduct heat or cold. It's created by combining a polymer with a liquid to form a gel, and then replacing all of that liquid with air. Aerogel is a thermal barrier consisting of 98.2% air, making it highly efficient. Unlike other insulations, Aerogel is trusted by NASA space travel and best for applications where compression resistance and warmth is important.
