Hi, I'm looking at spening the first 2 weeks of October around the annecy region. Looking to camp but all the campsites I can find seem to close by end of september. Even in september all the sites seem to be family sites with pools, organised activites etc, and quite pricey.

Is anyone aware of good value campsites in the area that might be open in early october?

I have stayed in Doussard (south end of Lake Annecy) in mid-September and yes, everything is shutting down. Campsites, hotels, the paragliding operations, the lot. Sorry, that doesn't help much other than confirming what you have found.

Thanks for your input, it's helpful to know even if its not what I was hoping to hear. I've been to the dolomites in late september, and it seemed similar.

But I'm very suprised that no camping seems to be open in early October, a lot of sites in UK stay open until end October at least.
