Ice climbing/ski touring near Trondheim?

I'll be in Trondheim in February and am hoping to get some ice climbing and ski touring in. Are there any locations near to Trondheim or at least accessible by public transport for either climbing or skiing? Ideally, somewhere with both would be good but failing that, two places that are close together or accessible from Trondheim.

Any recommendations for guides would be appreciated too.

If you search around you will find similar pages for ski touring.

Most, if not all of the ice routes are logged here on UKC so you can mooch through see what crags and grades interest you. Though much of the reliable ice climbing is centered around Oppdal and really needs a car to access.

Public transport for on piste skiing on the other hand isn't so bad. You can get to the resorts at Vassfjellet (Trondheim) or Oppdal easily with bus/train and a bit of a walk.

For off piste, again its Oppdal, Meråker or out west that's best, but these also really need a car to access. There is some stuff to have a go at for evening skiing at Gråkallen in Trondheim which is accessible by bus.
