What a lovely celebration of Doug Scott's life last night at the RGS.
What struck me was that Doug did 'have a job'...it was to highlight to all of us that mountains and people are inseperable. Doug's life showed this wonderfully: his humanitarian achievements should be a model for all of us enjoying the mountain life, in all its forms.
I thought it was a really excellent evening. We watched online as a London is bit of a trek from the Highlands. Tut Braithwaite was sharp as a dagger and had some really brilliant tales to tell.
Agree about Tut. Each panel member gave some great insights. I'd have loved to have had at least a chance to bid for one of the auctioned photographs - each was iconic - even if I'm unable to afford to acquire one.
