I'm off to the cordillera in June. Hoping to do some 2000m+ peaks. There are refugios and cabins on the map but struggling for info. I have the Robin Walker guide, he suggests not using mountain accom, but I am keen to - I think the cabins are a bit like bothies and the refugios are like alpine huts - but just guessing - so no idea of eg food availability etc.
I will be going on to the Picos about which there's plenty info, but the area to the SE of that looks good... anyone with info, tips etc?
