I started climbing back in the '60s at Windgather rocks in the Peak district so I grew up on gritstone. I've been climbing on and off ever since then, but since I took early retirement in 2006 and moved to Symonds Yat, I really got back in to it again, and, because we lived in what used to be a quarry, I didn't even have to leave the garden to get a bit of practice.
We moved to North Wales in October 2012 so the opportunities to get out are even greater now.
I've also done lots of mountain walking and some caving and just generally love anything to do with the outdoors.

Interests Outside Climbing
We live on a smallholding in North Wales which is almost a full time job to keep under control. We keep chickens, a horse called Rupert, sheep and a dog.
I like most styles of music including rock, blues, jazz and classical; and I like red wine.
