Update July 2014 - Now that I'm actually starting to get to the leading grade I wanna be at I'm really starting to enjoy the whole craic - lazy days at Swanage and the Peak bagging routes I 'd never thought I'd be good enough for. Dossing around at the crag with good mates having loads of banter and piss taking - and then the beer and cheesy cider afterwards :-)
Although I haven't been at it long - topping out on Hargreaves Original at Stanage. First time on Boulder Ruckle and Lightning Wall. Finally being good enough to lead Transcript Direct at Subluminal. Bagging my first HVS lead (Ledgend Direct on guillemot at Swanage). Ice Climbing above Alpe D' Huez in the sunshine, great company and boyish belay banter. Always topping out on the Ruckle.
Finally getting on Flying buttress Direct and getting it clean on lead first go - lifetime tick !
Topping out on Finale Groove on the Ruckle (and the beer afterwards)
Learning loads on my all too infrequent trips to the Peak District
Now discovered Boulder Brighton which has become my new best thing (just wish that I was 25 years younger)
Managing a clean onsight of Goliath's Groove on my first trad day of 2013 - get in there !
Doing Astrid on Black Zawn in perfect conditions
My ongoing battle with Left Unconquerable
Getting Cemetery Gates onsight and starting to actually feel like a real climber
