Dan Bailey - UKHillwalking.com

Outdoor writer / photographer, guidebook author and UKH Editor. Into long hill days, scrambles and classic punter's climbs both summer and winter. Climbing-wise I've always been a talentless bumbler, but that's fine by me. I prefer big easy mountain routes and I'm just as happy scrambling as cragging. But the Mrs has just bought me a finger board, so who knows ...the sky's the limit.

Best Climbing Experience
You can't recreate the buzz of the new: learning to lead at Ilkley and Almscliff; first multi pitch route (something on Lliwedd; we were never sure what); first time in the Alps (we got bugger all done); first glimpse over the zawn to Wen slab; first time up Tower Ridge in decent nick; first ascent of some Pennine winter esoterica...

About My Photography

Favourite Climbs
I could say something like Centurion or Cenotaph Corner or the Cuillin ridge but I'd hate to be predictable. If you define 'favourite' as the number of times you've repeated a route then my top 10 are probably all on the Hawkcraig.
