The New NickB
Recently separated and looking to make more time for myself. No kids, but a Jack Russell.
A trad quarried grit botherer, with a love for the mountains, especially the Alps and Scottish Winter. Not much interest in sport, indoor or bouldering, but that does not make them bad.
I don't climb as much or lead as hard as I did in my youth, rarely collecting many E points, but I am enjoying my climbing, particularly with more of a mountain and winter focus. I never really pushed the grade in the winter in the past and this one area I have been keen to work on.

Best Climbing Experience
Old Man Hoy was great. Any route which has challenged me and I have overcome the challenge. My first Scottish winter route, Tower Ridge. Any time I am on Skye, even if the weather is poor. Hero worship by Japanese tourists in the Alps (I think they were confused). Just being there in Patagonia.

The greatness of the Lancashire Quarries. Why people buying £425 Gore-tex jackets are fools.

Interests Outside Climbing
Politics and current affairs. Sport in general, but especially athletics. Food and drink.
I am a member of a team in a pub quiz league and am a very keen, if not particuarly talented runner.
