Silly  question time but I finally got my hands on an indoor rope  (Beal 40m   9.8m) and rope bag (dmm classic) but i cant seem to get my head round coiling it? If I try to do a butterfly one  loop always falls off my shoulder?

My climbing bag ( dmm classic) has have a rope trap am I right in saying that if I use that I can keep and store my rope on that  instead of having to cool it all the time?

Yes rope bags make life far easier. Tie one end to a tag on the bag corner, then just flake the rope out onto the tarp. Tie uour the ropes other end onto a brightly coloured tag at a different corner (and make note of the colour) then just roll the tarp up into the bag.

When you next use the rope, roll the tarp flat. Untie the rope from your top tag and you should be good to go. At a wall you can also scoup the rope into the tarp and carry or drag between different routes without it being tangled.
