Spirlock avoids the heel clamp that is prasent on the leverlock but still relies in a clamping system. Difficult to explain but its really simple and effective.
Were I you though, I'd buy the plastic front and back Flexlock system. Just as secure, more appropriate for the boots and marginally faster to fit.
