I would second Jack Frost's advice. Paul Walker of Tangent is very helpful.

Another travel source of travel info is the Lonely Planet guidebook to Iceland and Greenland.

I ended up not going myself, though. Still on the to-do list

You are better of getting into a group. Travel logistics are complicated involving chartering planes and food drops.
