Ive just tryed to order myself a new rab baltoro guide jkt, but unfortunitely they are out of stock till next spring... boo!

Anyone got any alternative ideas from what they have used?
A hood is important and a hardwearing stretch fabric. winter weight.

Cheers

In reply to Smelly Fox: i like my sprayway 810 in Schoeller dryskin, its a nice neat cut, the hood fits over a helmet and is easy to adjust.

Arc'teryx: Gamma SVGamma MX or Alpha Comp jackets.
Both are good.
I like the alpha comp for higher "output" activities.
The gore-tex in the shoulders and kidney area is excellent for light precipitation. Add an activent jacket on top, or even a nylon windbreaker (my option) and your bases are covered.
The gamma SV and MX are different in design.
They are both three season shells, however, the Gamm SV is a heavyweight and is better for Fall to Spring, similarly, the MX is better Spring to Fall.

Stay away from the patagonia scythe. horrible fit. for me at least.

Hope this helped?
PS. my gamma MX (medium) is up for sale

Yeah I had considered arc'teryx. I have a few bits and bobs of their powerstretch gear which I really like. Unfortunitely I cant get a hold of them through work.

Anyone tryed the mammut shoeller hybrid jkt (cant remember its name? Sounds superb for scottish winter/winter alpine in the blurb from the mammut website.
