I have seen a review / explenation of one, anditlooks like a nice piece of kit.

They look like this:

If anyone has seen one for sale anywhere would appreciate knowing, as I might get one

They have some weird Cassin belay plates in the bargain bin at Nevis Sports in Hathersage. Cassin Twin, I believe...

Just found this

But about £3 or so.

briefly mentions the Cassin Logic as a "locking" device

Ye, from what I can gather its used in a similar style to a fig 8, but with a rope running over a groove, that it can slip out of, and down into a V should the climber fall.

BTW, its the one on the right in that picturs

I got one very cheap from nevisport in fort william a few years back, dont bother they're shit. If you load the rope in the groove, it jams annoyingly tight and its hard to lower or do anything else really. Also, the recomended lowering procedure is to run the rpoe back over the top of the device, into the notch visible above the V groove. which doesnt work, the rope just slips off into the groove again.
In conclusion, they're crap.
