been given a load ( 5) nice patzl twist lock krabs.......

whats the best use for them, will they replace the screw lock or normal gated krabs, they were intended for working at height and weigh F*all are they a bit fiddley to use on protection. ?

Don't use them on sea cliffs as they clog up and jam big style

Not tried them in winter but you may have some issue with the mechanism freezing up.

In reply to Dave Murphy: If they're the ones I'm thinking of then definitely wouldn't recommend them for winter. Guy I was climbing with had them a few years ago, they were far too fiddly for winter use

In reply to Dave Murphy: i vaguely remember seeing a notice about a recall of a twist lock Krab. just a thought but you could probably check on the manufacturers website
