OK, it's not 'climbing' gear per se, but this seems like the best forum to try.

I'm looking for a pair of robust trekking poles which pack down as small as possible. I'm struggling to find a four-section pole which I would have thought would be more compact that the common three-section ones. I know there will be a weight premium but, if I was that concerned about weight I could skip lunch once in a while.

If the collective experience of UCK cannot identify a four-section pole, does anyone have a reccomendation for a compact and robust three section one?

A mate of mine has some Decathalon ones and they packed down very small for 3-sections. Much, much shorter than my Leki titanium ones.

Wish I'd found these when I was looking for the same thing.

A friend had the Exped. ones on our Greenland trip last month and they looked great - I'll probably get a set to replace my old BD pair.

Just received the Exped poles from Urbanrock; they seem excellent. Delivery was good as well. Many thanks for the recommendation
