A group of us are going to Grindelwald in September. Experienced summer & winter in Scotland including Skye so we've no worries about taking on a few PD's xcept for the issue of moving safely on glaciers. (I've done this before but don't fancy instructing others Can anyone recommend a Grindelwald based guide who might do us a half day or a day's group coaching on glacier skills? What might we expect to pay for this?

If you find a guide and you need more people to share the costs then, call me. Myself and my two sons need some glacier training in preparation for an expedition to Mexico next Summer to climb Popocatepetl and/or Pico

Hi you could try the British Mountain Guide website and check it for members. I'd imagine if you managed to hire a guide direct rather than through an agency you would expect to pay around £250 per day.
In reply to bryn: Thanks for the idea, I've now emailed the BMGA to see if they've got anyone active in hte area. Out of interest I'll post any outcome I get.
