Recent user experience has shown that the front points of Petzl Charlet SARKEN crampons are susceptible to premature wear following heavy use.
This may result in cracking of the metal near the front points, followed by possible breakage if use continues.
Petzl Charlet has ceased production and stopped sales of these crampons.
Petzl Charlet is recalling all SARKEN crampon models because they feel that the potential lifetime of the crampons should be longer than user experience has demonstrated.
