Hi there friendly brits, I am a 48 year old climber with 30+ years experience, including many trips to The Usual Euro Hotspots, and will soon (May 23-June 12) be adding the Tarn to my resume. Any info anyone might have regarding where to camp (preferably cheap/free, the dollar ain't what it used to be thanks to GWB), how to get from Millau to the Gorge sans vehicle, and might anyone be looking for an enthusiastic partner who climbs in the French 7's/low 8's? TIA Joe

In reply to jghedge: Hi i was there last april/ may for about a month and ended up camping in various campgrounds, the best i feel was the one nearest the gorge but opened 1st of may.I also camped in the municipal site in le rozier and met quite a few freindly french climbers which ended up with me climbing in la jonte and at le boffi both truely superb areas.Combining these 3 valleys leaves you with one of the best areas in france(the world?)Enjoy!

In reply to jghedge:Milau to the gorge is easy bus(only 2 or 3 a day) from train station takes you to le rozier then hitch or taxi to the campground up near the gorge.

We were there out of season and just dirtbagged it in the car parks, but there's definitely plenty of campsites around.

Enjoy
