There is already a thread about Jetboil's here: http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?t=300043
The Jetboil is a great stove if you want to boil water or melt snow fast and you don’t intend on using it anywhere that’s likely to be particularly windy, due to the lack of windshield. The Neoprene cover and webbing handle make it comfortable to drink from. I mainly use mine for making tea and it lives in the car permanently (I like tea).

If you want a stove with a bit more flexibility then the Primus Eta Express (http://www.roughgear.co.uk/Product.aspx?product=129) maybe a better option. It has a larger burner area so less scorching than the Jetboil and a windshield. It is a bit more compact than the Jetboil and you can stow a 220g canister in it (Jetboil will only fit a 100g).

Alternatively if you want a really compact stove there is the Optimus Crux Lite Solo Cook Set (http://www.roughgear.co.uk/Product.aspx?product=184) this has a smaller 0.6 Ltr pot and no heat exchanger or wind shield but includes a Folding Titanium spork and weighs 40% less than both the Jetboil and EtaExpress.

I would also recommend a foot rest for stability (http://www.roughgear.co.uk/Product.aspx?product=105) for any canister mounted stove.

Hope that helps
Ian

also worth a look, takes a full size cannister.

Some good ebay deals on the jetboil.

In reply to scotty_webster: Don't buy one. They aren't actually that fast compared to rocket style stoves.

Speed isn't necessarily what the JetBoil is trying to achieve. Fuel efficiency probably is, so that you have to carry less fuel on a longer trip. That's certainly the message that Primus are pushing with their EtaPower stoves and pans. They make a bit of a mess of this by making the pans rather heavy, though; e.g. EtaExpress 1l pan weighs about 230g, vs about 100g for a Trangia 27 UL 1l pan. That's another 130g of fuel you could carry...
After lots of deliberating I ordered the Primus Eta Express from roughgear this week. Seems a lot more useable and better value for money. I'll let you know how I get on with it. =o)

F**K me, did you see their response to a few questions about it on here?

I hope you experience the 4 x savings on gas they were claiming!

If he does, I might get one fitted to my car!

In reply to scotty_webster: Jetboils are nice for shorter trips when you can use the 100g canister - which fits in the pot. They last a suprisingly long time. Otherwise, the system is bulky. And the pizo sucks.
