I'm on the 29th June course really didn't expect to get a place, what's the easiest and cheapest way to get from geneva airport to chamonix?

OP steve456 20 May 2008
I'm really psyched already Got a ridiculous amount of work to do by thursday yet I'm still internet window-shopping for shiny things
 jamie84 20 May 2008
In reply to clare13: train probably the easiest, I can't remember how much it cost but seemed fine at the time. If there's enough people to fill a car, cheap car hire might be way to go.
In reply to steve456:

got a phone call today and also got a place, woo

sometime at the the end of july.

In reply to jamie84:

train is definitely not the easiest way, unless you enjoy changing trains?!?

theres a coach shuttle that runs to/from chamonix train station and costs about 25 euros each way. this is by far the least hassle.

In reply to Hamish Dunn: Of course the cheapest is to hitch but is far from being the easiest... once out of geneva its fine - at the airport? uber dificult - has to be the least hitch friendly pick uk spot I've ever hitched from. Including the hardshoulder couming out of Glasgow...
coachhousemews 21 May 2008
In reply to steve456: i got the call this morning sayin i got a place on the 22-24th june course

anyone going from the northwest??
 Frank4short 21 May 2008
In reply to clare13: Bus. If i remember correctly there's a Rhone Alpes (maybe the wrong region though) bus service that goes from Geneva airport to cham. Should cost about €25-30 each way. You should be able to google it.

This summers Geneva to Chamonix premier post has just gone live on UKC. We have 12 departures every day and the cost is 25 Euros per person.

We take you to/from the Conville course campsite at Les Chosalets in Argentiere.

Cheers.
