Off climbing in Lofoten, Norway (or sitting in a tent listening to the rain). I am trying to find cheap digs in Bodo, either campsite or room. Anybody got any suggestions. Also any climbing experiences would be interesting and whet our appetites.
We have the latest Lofoten climbing guide and have so far found 6 puffins....superb and an excellent read to boot.

All along the E6 road there are free campsites with usually water and a toilet. Norway allows camping anywhere as long as it aint in someones garden.
Can't get cheaper than that!
Have a good trip - take several books, fishing rod, football, pack of cards, monopoly and as much whisky as possible!!!

In reply to bryn: Thanks Bryn. Did you stay anywhere in Bodo? We can only find expensive accommodation there at the moment. The youth hostel, despite still having a website, closed down in 2006..

There is a good large campsite on the right at the end of the airport runway (Bodosjoen) with cheap cabins too. Turn right off the main road heading east at roundabout with a garage on it.

In reply to Chris Craggs: Hi Chris, nice to hear from you! I feel all 'umble! We're staying in Thorbjørn Enevold's place by coincidence because we booked it before we got the guide. Congratulations on the guide and thanks for helping us plan our trip. Will ring the Bodo campsite now.

So about these puffins...
