In a some time ago post an explanation was asked for this:

I posted on Planet Mountain and got this reply today:
"Il masso di cui si parla fa "bella" mostra di sè lungo la dorsale del Sass de Strìa sovrastante,appunto,il Passo di Valparola.
A quanto so, pare sia opera di un "artista" (le virgolette non sono messe per caso!) che ha come specialità quella di dipingere appunto di blu rocce e macigni in giro per il mondo...
Ogni ulteriore commento è superfluo!!"
Brief translation: "As far as I know this is the work of a certain "artist" who specialises in painting rocks and bouders around the world blue. I think no further comment is required!"
