Dodgy Compass?

Hi all,

Bought a Silva Expedition 4 from Snow and Rock and the damn thing refuses to point North!! It just follows the letter 'N' on the degrees dial thing!

Anyone know why this is happening? Could it have been the way the compass was stored or something else?

Sounds like a manufacturing defect, i'd send it back as it is deinatly not "fit for purpose" so you're entitled to a refund if u brought it within the last 30 days.

Do you mean it doesn't move freely on it's own, it only moves when you turn the bezel?

In reply to nolo: yes snow and rock have those magnetic pads....and id bet that it was that which killed it.
