Manchester Festival of Climbing will be held at MCC on February 28 and March 1. There will be loads of events held throughout the weekend, including climbing competitions, boot demos and masterclasses with some of the UK's top climbers.
The finale of the weekend will be a lecture from Chris Sharma on the Sunday evening. For Chris Sharma tickets please see recpetion at MCC or call 0161 2307006.
Also part of this weekend will be the Five Stars Everest Challenge, a sponsored climbing event aiming to raise money for a vital scanner for Manchester's new children's hospital. This is a team event in which climbers compete to climb the greatest heights in timed slots. The aim is that the total height climbed by all the teams will match the height of Mount Everest, or beyond! It's open to all ages and abilities, so you don't have to be a pro to take part!
