This year's TremFest will be held over the weekend of the 17th- 19th April, based at Eric's.
The last two festivals have been a blast, with great weather, a magnificently sociable atmosphere and a massive improvement in the condition of the crag.
Free prizes, free beer, free camping. If you can think of a decent reason not to be there, I'll give you a pound.
In reply to Martin Kocsis, BMC: hmm interesting - was looking to head to n.wales this weekend with a mate anyway just need to find transport.. (reminder!)
In reply to Martin Kocsis, BMC:
Very tempted, but I'm being trained to captain a canal boat that weekend!
Did a good job of bashing down some vegetation on the east side of the Christmas Curry buttress the other weekend when I slid into the gully abing off the top...
Last year when myself and my girlfriend enquired about coming to this as novice climbers (we thought it would be a great way to meet other climbers and 'get in there') we were told to not bother and to come back when we were more experienced...
This has unfortunately put me off coming, even now that I am 'more experienced'. I can understand why having novice climbers there might not really work to everyone's advantage.
Perhaps it should be made clear that novice climbers are not that welcome?
In reply to s.climber:
I'm really suprised you were told that, that advice was pretty poor and seems totally against the spirit of the event last time I went.
Just ask around for advice and don't try anything you don't know how to.

In reply to s.climber: Well that's a very strange state of affairs. You say someone on the festival website told you this. This is even stranger because there ain't no festival website! Did you speak to someone over the phone, or was this in an email?
The publicity says "everyone welcome" which seems unambiguous to me.
That'll be me. Bit of a misunderstanding I think. Of course everybody's welcome but the festival isn't set up to introduce people to climbing. It really is aimed at existing climbers who can look after themselves on the cliff whatever grade they climb. We can find jobs for non-climbers of course. Sorry if I misunderstood your request last year.

In reply to Ian McNeill: this is looking decidedly contrary to the wet weekend i'd hoped had happenend as the lift i'd been in had broken down on route (round shrewsbury)
