For the last ten years Steve McClure has dominated the UK sport climbing scene with a string of first ascents and repeats unmatched by any other

His resume reads like no other and Steve's major routes in recent years include; Rainshadow F9a, Ring of Fire DWS F8b+, '21' 25 pitch, Greenland E7 6c, Hotel Supramonte F8b, Elder Statesman HXS 7a, Chupacababra E9 6c

In 2002 McClure became the first British person ever to onsight more than 100 routes graded F8a or harder within a 12 month period

Steve has also held the British Indoor Championship no fewer than 4 times!

In late May 2007, he made the first ascent of Overshadow 9a+ at Malham Cove and more recently (May 2008) completed the unclimbed extension Northern Exposure - Part 1 Kilnsey, rumoured to be 9a/9a+

Steve will be presenting an evening of slide and video exploring what it takes to maintain the incredible levels of motivation, dedication and focus needed to climb at the very top
