I've read several forums about the best headtorches and most seem to stop before the most relevant information comes out. I use a Head 4 led which is superb in conjunction with a Petzl Tikka. The Head is absolutely brill if you have access to a charging point (like a Maplins mains inverter). The Tikka simply is ultra reliable and lasts for ages as a backup. However I hear the Petzl Ultra gives a similar output to the hope, but no one has backed this up with real life experience. Which is the best for light output and burn time?
