In reply to Heike: Go to Outdoor Alternative at Rhoscolyn. Lovely, peaceful little spot run by outdoor folk. Tel: 01407 860469

There's a campsite within walking distance of south stack I believe.

In reply to Darron: Hmmmmmm! I dont think thats the Valley of the Rocks I'm talking about, I may have the wrong name, it was in a far less urbanised area to that and we did walk to South Stack from it. I'll see if I can found out more details.

>Outdoor Alternative

I used to stay there but I heard that the local pub had shut down, so Valley of The Rocks became the alternative. Did the pub reopen/survive?

In reply to Al Evans:

I've had another look Al and thats def V of R (and is signposted as such off the road). It's not as urban as it looks. Our CC (your link above)stayed there quite a few times. It's an interesting site geographically with the humps, bumps and rocks that Anglesey does so well. Bit more sheltered than most sites around here too. Owners can seem a bit odd and not very helpful. We took 60 people once and they would not negociate leaving time on Sun. Toilets and showers are a bit down in the dumps. The pub (which I don't think has anything to do with the campsite)is a bit strange - more of a workingmens club type atmosphere. Still, they sell beer!
